Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Kathmandu - Nargarkot (2175 m)

Morning, departure towards the east of the valley via Baudhnath, and transfer half an hour to Sankhu, an old village of the Newari ethnic group, located 12 km from Kathmandu. Begins our hike which will take us to the village of Nargarkhot (2175m), balcony facing the Himalayas. Walk about 3-4 hours on a nice trail, without difficulty, going east and crossing several villages. On a clear day, the panorama on the part of the Himalayan, subject to clear weather.

Day 2 - Nargarkot - Dhulikel (1550 m)

Morning, departure to Dhulikel (1550m), newari village, mini hill station, another point offering a superb view of the Himalayan ranges. The trail runs south-east, crossing two hilly rolling hills located east-west. The path goes up and down, but without difficulty. Transfer Banepa to Dhulikel 15 minutes (30 km from Kathmandu) where we spend the night.

Day 3 - Dhulikel - Namo Buddha Monastery (View sunrise on the Himalayan ranges)

Hike to Namobuddha (about 3-4 hours) Namobuddha is one of the three largest Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the country: At the top of the hill, the magnificent monastery of Trangu Tashi Yangtse, a vast set of temples and monastic Tibetan buildings, the small cave where a marble tablet describes a legend that relates to Buddha. Possibility of sleeping at the monastery's guesthouse and eating with the monk.

Day 4 - Namo Buddha - Panauti (Hiking through the rice fields to Panauti: (about 3 hours))

Panauti, 7 km from Banepa, the most important commercial city, is a charming medieval village with an authentic character: it has a collection of splendid, Hindu and Buddhist religious monuments such as the temple of Indreshwar Mahadev devoted to Shiva and the temple Brahmayani, the most important. The site is at the confluence of the Roshi Khola and its tranquility and its sacred character. Night in homestay in a Newar family; The life of the village at dusk.

Day 5 - Return to Kathmandu

Village life at dawn, work in the fields, walk around Panauti and return in the afternoon to Kathmandu by bus about 1 hrs.
