Day 02-03: Kathmandu/Chitwan Wildlife Park
After Breakfast, we drive about 5 hrs to the Chitwan National Park. It is home to an extraordinary range of the world's rarest animals and birds. Upon arrival, lunch will be served, rooms assigned and there will be short briefing on the program and our facilities. In brief Nepal's first and most famous national park is situated in the Chitwan Doon or the lowlands of the Inner Terai. Covering an area of 932 sq. km. The park includes hi Ily areas of the Siwalik Range covered by deciduous sal forest. A fifth of the park is made up of the floodplains of the Narayani, Rapti and the Reu Rivers and is covered by dense tall elephant grass interspersed with riverine forests of silk cotton (kapok), acacia and sisam trees.
- Jungle wildlife such as the rare greater One horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, several species of Deer, Sloth bear, Wild boar, Fresh water Dolphin, Leopard, the Marsh Mugger, Gharial Crocodiles, Rhesus Monkey, Wild dogs and offers excellent possibilities with more than 800 species of birds etc, can be found.
- Activities at the Jungle Lodge nature walks, wildlife viewing on elephant back, land rover drives, boat trips, jungle treks, bird watching excursions, wildlife viewing and photographing from Machans, slide shows and the services of experienced naturalists. All are included for an experience to be remembered for along time.
