Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Transfer to hotel and formalities procedure for trek. Accommodation: hotel

Day 02 : Kathmandu -Nepalgunj

In the afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Nepalgunj (1h). Nice view if the weather is clear mt.Manaslu, Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri range. Nepalgunj 280m is located in the plain of Terai ; weather is semi tropical here. Accommodation: lodge

Day 03 : Flight to Juphal 2450m. Trek Juphal-Suligad 2080 m -Hanke 2500m

Flight to Juphal about 45 minutes. Flight is subject to weather condition. It can be canceled and postponed (the program may need adjust in this case) . In Juphal, meet staff and porters and cooking team . Begins downhill to Thuli Bheri and Suligad rivers 2080 m. A good trail progresses on the left bank to the village of Kakani: lunch. Two bridges later, and after passing through two winter s where the inhabitants of the upper Dolpo spend the winter, the camp is set up on the grassy terraces of the of Hanke.

Day 04 : Hanke-Regi 2960 m

After an hour's walk, arrive at Chepka. The new trail then plays leapfrog over the tumultuous waters of the Suligad. No less than four bridges (all in very good condition, caravans of yaks borrow!) Day 05 : Regi-Camp of Phoksundo Lake 3640 m

Trek in the forest. to climb to the Phoksundo National Park in the middle of alpine pastures. Passing to Palam (winter village of the inhabitants of Phoksundo) then steep climb to a high point 3730m with a spectacular view of the waterfalls , Phoksundo lake. Easy descent to reach Ringmo, a beautiful village with two monasteries. Camp on the shore of the lake where no bath for reasons of religious beliefs; Anyway, the turquoise water of this lake ... is icy! visit the village.

Day 06 : Acclimatization day on the bank of Phoksundo lake 3640m

Before the climb to higher altitudes, a day around Ringmo allows to start the acclimatization . Visit Bon monastery of the Shenteen Thasung Tsoling gompa, locate in a peaceful area of the lake 40 mn go / back). From the large chorten overlooking the village, you can marvel at the magnificent site of Phoksundo Lake. Rest, souvenirs made locally including magnificent traditional weaves.

Day 07 : Phoksundo-Camp Pines 3680 m

A mythical stage that follows the corbelled paths above Lake Phoksundo. We are now enter the Upper parts of the Dolpo the "restrictive area". The trail impressive, is well maintained and presents no major difficulty. Ascents and descents succeed one another and finally arrive on the other side of the lake. The camp of the pines is located at About 1 hour after the end of the lake up the valley of Phoksundo Khola.

Day 08 : Pine Camp-base camp of Ganda La 4620 m

For an hour and 30 minutes, we are along the river. Country atmosphere at the foot of high snowy mountains of Kanjerowa 6612m, Around 3740 m, at the confluence of two valleys, we go up the one on the right. Several crossings of fords . Around 4100 m, the trail definitely settles on the right bank of the torrent until the level of the base camp of Ganda La feel here altitude .

Day 09. – Ganda La BC- Ganda La pass 5300m -Shey 4330m

A steep first section leads us to the top of a large waterfall. The last 400 meters are quite tedious but the reward is immense when you arrive at the pass where prayer flags float 3 hours of walking from the camp. We are really entering the Upper Dolpo, the hidden country decent about 3 hours walk to reach the foot of the Shey Monastery . set up camp next to the monastery for two nights.

Day 10 : Day Shey around visit

Back to monastery of Tsakhang 4500m near to large red cliff and in the afternoon, visit of the Shey Moastery , and visit the camps of nomads, numerous in the region.

Day 11 : Shey -Shey La 5110m -Namgung 4420m

Easy trail that goes up the valley. Number of nomadic camps with yaks and goats in the pastures surrounding Shey. slowly climb to the Shey La 3h30. From the pass, the view is magnificent towards the north and Tibet. Quiet descent; Then, reach over the of Namgung, a valley, surrounded by rocky bars. This consists of only a few houses and an old monastery .

Day 12 : Day Namgung-Saldang La 4400 m

Camp in front of the school of Saldang 4050 m above Namgung, a path cut in the cliff allows to leave this gorge. different species of bird, including vultures, and partridges share the slopes that dominate the trail. Upon arrival at the Saldang La, an immense panorama towards the Tibetan highlands welcomes us. Descent Easy, for an hour, to reach the first houses of Saldang. Day 13 : Saldang-Camp of the Confluence 3700 m

Descend through various s to the banks of the Nankong Chu 3820 m. The trail will follow the left bank of this torrent for two hours (beautiful path with some corbelled sections). On the way, visit the of Tiling. set up the camp near the chortens which mark the junction with the Keheng Chu. After lunch, visit the village of Luri (1h go / back )

Day 14 : Confluence camp-Yangser Gompa 3860 m -Camp of the Confluence 3700 m

Full day to the discovery of Yangser Gompa and its surroundings. Go up the right bank of the Keheng Chu. A steep slope straight under the new monastery 3940 m where the view of the old monastery. they pass next to another Major point of the Upper Dolpo). Continue to the village of Nishal, the "end of the end" of the world. At the end of September, harvesting is under way, with all crop-related activities. Day 15 : Confluence-Saldang-Cha Camp 4030 m

By the same route, we go back to Saldang before continuing our way to the s of Namdo, Sibu and finally Cha. camp upstream of the village.

day 16 : Cha - Jangla Phedi 4540 m

After breakfast, it is possible to climb up to Rap monastery 4180m. about an hour for the return trip , We then leave the last inhabited places of the upper Dolpo. Return to an austere valley with many crossings of fords to Jangla Phedi, a place occupied by nomad tents that keep yaks and goats.

Day 17 : Jangla Phedi - Jangla 5130m -Tokkyu 4200m

Easy and steady climb to the Jangla pass 2h30. From the pass, magnificent panorama of the Dhaulagiri chain. and descent just as easy following Chortens and mani walls appear at the foot of the pass, indicating the presence close to dwellings. At the confluence of two great valleys, we come face to the gompa of Champa Lhakang. Camp next to the of Tokkyu. We are now in the valley of the Tarap.

Day 18 : Tokkyu-Do-Shibchog Valley 4180m -Pang La Base Base 4440m

Down hill towards this famous valley of the Tarap. Visit of s and some monastary : villages of Tango and Chumaga, hermitage of Zur, of Kagar. Cristal Mountain School, a unique school in the heart of the Dolpo; This visit shows that the future can also exist for these high valleys. Day 19 : Pang La-Pang Base Camp The 5440 m -Yak Karka 4780 m

The trail is well marked with caravans of yaks. On the other hand, the last portion, between 4900 m and the pass ... is very steep. It takes at least 3 hours of walking from the camp to find yourself in the pass which offers, again, a unique panorama! Descent (steep at the start) to Keweg Chu talweg (the same River flowing at the foot of Yangser Gompa!). The camp is neara little upstream, towards the next pass.

Day 20 : Yak Karka-Chharka La 5030 m -Chharka 4310 m

Way to get to the Chharka pass from a hillock (15 min above the pass) the view is superb on the chain of Dhaulagiri (we see Mt. Dhaulagiri II and III in the foreground, the Dhaulagiri I in the background). Descent long easy to the village of Chharka. with its high walls the waves of the Barbung Khola. camp between the old village and the new one.

Day 21 : Chharka-Base Camp of Nirwa La 4760m

Two new bridges alter access to the Kok La, key point of this great crossing. 1h40 after Chharka, and after these two famous bridges, the trail follows the right bank of the Thajang Chu. Go up from this very marked valley to the second camp site, here wild and severe sorrouds.

Day 22 : Nirwa La - Nirwa Base Camp 5100m - Lungpa La 5470m - Lanio Lungpa 5250m

Day 23 : Lanio Lungpa - Kok The 5180m -Sangdag 3760m

Trail to the Kok La, surrounding valleys. From the pass, the descent is very steep for about 1h30. with some truly impressive passages, leads to a new metal bridge bridge (altitude 3840m that spans the Chalung Khola. Go up on the right bank with a beautiful course in ascents and descents to the of Sangdag. Camp near the school.

Day 24 : Sangdag- IV passes 4020m / 4370m / 4240m / 3840m -Phalegaon 3160 m

Steep climb up to a false pass 4020m. A large horizontal crossing and a climb lead to a first marked pass at 4370m. An enormous pile of white stones marks the passage of this pass. Day 25 : Phalegaon-Dangar The 3470 m-Jomosom 2790 m

Last day short climb (1h) to the pass above Dangar Dzong. We see very well the villages of Kagbeni and Muktinath. Those who have already toured the Annapurnas remember the Thorung La, which one sees right in front of us! Descent steep to the edge of the Kali Gandaki. A few meters and here we are at Jomosom, the end of this long walk.

Day 26 : Flight> Pokhara> Kathmandu
